Safer In Sussex Community Fund Open for Applications
Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne's Safer In Sussex Community Fund is now open for applications.
The fund provides financial support (grant awards up to £5,000) to local organisations and projects that aim to reduce crime and improve community safety.
Since becoming PCC, Katy Bourne has been able to support over 600 community groups with over £2.3m. Following an application and panel decision process, the funding gets awarded to a variety of groups. In the past, these groups have included: Nightlife Safety Advocates; Community Speedwatch; youth groups; funding for safety tools and equipment including additional CCTV and security radios; recovery hubs and training for specialist staff and volunteers in the community.
Hosting the Community Fund has always been a vital part of the Commissioner's role. If you're interested in applying, a good place to start to see if your group is eligble, is to look at the Police & Crime Plan to understand the PCC's priorities.
