How to keep Sussex roads safe is top of the agenda for Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne at her monthly Performance & Accountability Meeting (PAM) this Friday (21 June).
She’ll be questioning how Sussex Police and partners are responding to seasonal risks on the roads as well as how they’re tackling anti-social motorcycling.
Commenting ahead of the meeting Mrs Bourne said, “I was pleased to join Community Speedwatch in Horsham recently and witness firsthand some of their volunteers helping to keep the roads of Sussex safe from speeding. Sussex Police work closely with Community Speedwatch and Sussex Safer Roads Partnership and I want to ensure that they have identified any key areas of risk around road safety in the summer months, and how they plan to respond to them.”
“Additionally I know from correspondence with the public that anti-social motorcycling is a concern. Those motorcyclists who use inappropriate speed and noise are in the minority, but I am seeking assurance from Sussex Police that they are tackling those who persistently break the law.”
Other topics under discussion include:
- CRIME DATA INTEGRITY
- SERIOUS VIOLENCE STRATEGY
- COUNTY LINES – DRUG GANGS AND ORGANISED CRIMINAL NETWORKS
- SERIOUS AND ORGANISED CRIME STRATGEY – MODERN SLAVERY
- OUTSTANDING WARRANTS
THE NEXT PAM IS ON FRIDAY, 19 JULY 2019 AT 13:00.
